I was out with some lady friends of mine one saturday morning.  As we were riding along enjoying the beautiful morning, we started talking about exercising and taking good care of ourselves.  Of course, we were all in agreement that if only we had the time, we could accomplish those things that we used to enjoy.  We all agreed that by the time we have taken care of the household, the family, worked on our jobs, we are exhausted and there is no time left for us.  How many times have you gotten to the end of the day and all you wanted to do was just crawl to your bed.  We all agree that it is quite an accomplishment to be a Proverbs 31 woman.  Some of us, myself included even boast about how we are able to get so much done during the day.  Ladies, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being that wonderful mother, wife, or daughter.  But let us keep in mind that it is possible to become so busy that we forget what is most important.  Jesus gave us the perfect reminder when he took the time to visit Martha and Mary.  We know the story of how Martha was busy getting ready for the occasion.  There was so much to be done, and not enough time.  Sound familiar, ladies? In Luke 10:38 it says: That Jesus entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.  Can you imagine Martha's anxiety?  Jesus was coming to her house! You think we have stress?  While preparing for her Special Guest, Martha had forgotten all else, but  her sister Mary had not.  She sat at Jesus' feet and heard his words.  Luke 10:39  Of course, while we are running around trying to get it all done, we may tend to become distracted as Martha did.  She  elicited the help of Jesus hoping to get some help from her sister.  "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?  Therefore tell her to help me." Luke 10:40.   Ladies, are you distracted today?  Worried and troubled with many things as Martha was?  Let Jesus put it perspective for you.  Listen to His advise to Martha.  "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But only this is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. Luke 10:42.
So ladies, while we are rising while it is yet night, Prov. 31:15, extending our hand to the poor, and reaching out to the needy, Prov. 31:20, watching the way of our household, Prov. 31:27. let us remember to take time for ourselves and spend time with our Heavenly Father.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!
